Providing over 42 years of service, Bair’s Corvettes is a well-known Corvette repair shop located in Linesville, PA. The shop was created by owner, Harold Bair, formally known as “Yogi”, a name given to him as a young mechanic in the community. Bair is well respected in the car enthusiast industry and has gained the reputation of being the "guru" of Corvette owners today. The vehicle repair shop is dedicated to transforming Corvettes that were built specifically in 1963-1982. They offer body repair services on frames and suspension components of the vehicles, and provide refurbished car parts to a large cliental located throughout the world. Bair’s Corvettes is globally recognized in the die-hard Corvette owner industry, with a strong reputation and high demand it was vital for the repair shop to implement a strong business tracking process. Before utilizing Microsoft Dynamics GP Bair’s was using on premise software, which was both outdated and costly to the business. Bair’s sought a solution that would minimize licensing fees and eliminate the performance based issues they were encountering. The company was concerned that their existing information installed on their previous software would be lost when implementing a new solution. Bair’s desired a solution that would provide enhanced financial and reporting management within their business along with having the proper training needed to adapt to the solution with ease. Bair’s Corvettes contacted Distributed Network Software, LLC (DNS) to provide a solution that would meet all of their business needs.
After a thorough review of Bair’s process, DNS recommended Microsoft Dynamics GP, an ERP package which met all of their needs. The package provides Bair’s with the proper tools and framework to control all business related processes including purchasing, shipping, customer, and material management, fulfilling all of their financial responsibilities. DNS implemented Dynamics GP in a hosted environment in order to provide a scalable, efficient, and secure solution. With the migration into the cloud Bair’s previous licensing and server maintenance costs were eliminated.
The client was provided with an updated solution in a protected virtual environment where their data is stored and backed up nightly at DNS’s data center by technical experts who monitor and manage their servers and applications to ensure optimum performance. DNS was able to implement all related data into the client’s solution, granting them full access to all existing files. This was done by using, Integration Manager, a data migration tool, to extract and import the data from Bair’s previous application databases to Microsoft Dynamics GP. The data import populated Dynamics GP with master files for accounts, customers, vendors, inventory, bill of materials, and beginning balances.
DNS also provided Bair’s with modified reports and SmartLists, an easy to use and exportable reporting tool. Reports were configured using Report Writer, a report design tool commonly used with Dynamics GP, to provide content rich invoices to Bair’s customers. System-wide favorites were built in SmartList, equipping the client with quick and easy access to data on accounts, customers, sales, and inventory. Bair’s Corvettes now has real time insight on the state of their business.
To ensure the client was proficient in using Microsoft Dynamics GP, DNS provided ongoing assistance. Bair’s Corvette’s internal staff was educated on the features and tools available to them within the new solution and instructed on how to properly use them to their fullest advantage.
